The Legal Ombudsman Scheme does not apply to most businesses (except micro-enterprises), charities and clubs with an annual income of more than \u00a31m or Trustees of Trusts with an asset value of more than \u00a31m.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Law Society is a designated professional body for the purposes of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, but responsibility for regulation and complaints handling has been separate from The Law Society\u2019s representative functions.\u00a0 The Solicitors Regulation Authority is independent of The Law Society, and the Legal Ombudsman is the independent complaints handling body.\u00a0 The Solicitors Regulation Authority can help if you are concerned about our behaviour.
